Today we are remembering and paying tribute to Laura Tucker, a loyal supporter of our charity and one of our Champion Fundraisers who has sadly passed away following her own battle with cancer aged just 36 years.
Laura started her fundraising for Brain Tumour Support in 2016 in memory of her brother Darren who lost his life to a glioblastoma brain tumour a year earlier. She set up her Champion Fund named after him, describing him as ‘the bravest man I know’ and she was determined to honour him by raising awareness and helping others.

With the support of family, friends and many local businesses she organised all sorts of activities including a sponsored head shave, bingo events and car boot sales. Alongside her quiet kindness and gentle nature was huge determination, and Laura smashed her initial goal of £5,000, then also reached a second £10,000 target before tragically becoming ill herself.
Laura’s funeral is taking place today in Truro, Cornwall. Thinking particularly of her parents, brother, partner and three young children – our love, thoughts and support are very much with all her family and friends through such a difficult time.
