Being diagnosed with a brain tumour, or caring for someone with a brain tumour, can be a challenging and stressful experience in many ways.

We’ve put together some links to useful resources and contacts that may help you navigate some of the challenges. Please speak to your clinical nurse specialist (CNS) for further information and/or referral.

Cancer Care Map

The Cancer Care Map is a national directory that shows support available in every part of the country. It is run by the Richard Dimbleby Cancer Fund and supported by the NHS, cancer charities and other support organisations across the UK. You can search for local services and groups offering support for people with different types of cancer and/or different types of support including:

  • Emotional support
  • Medical services
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Practical concerns

Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical, medical and financial support. They provide booklets on cancer and treatments, run helplines providing cancer information and benefits advice, and offer Cancer Voices service, enabling those affected by cancer to share their experiences and help shape future cancer services.

Living with a disability

The Blue Badge Scheme (Department of Transport)

The scheme allows people with severe mobility problems to park close to their destination. The scheme is administered by local authorities who deal with applications and issue badges.
