Debra’s crop helps fund our support services

22 September 2026 22 September 2026 | Fundraising, News

When Debra, one of our clients, decided to raise awareness for our charity, she found an original way of supporting two wonderful causes.

Debra took the plunge and had 13 inches of her hair cut, raising over £1,000 for Brain Tumour Support and donating her hair to The Little Princess Trust.

Debra said, “This personal challenge meant more than just a change in appearance – it represented hope and support for those facing difficult battles.

“Since my husband’s diagnosis of a Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain tumour, we have experienced first-hand the incredible support provided by Brain Tumour Support. Their unwavering assistance has been a beacon of strength during this challenging time. I was initially hoping to raise £500, but after raising £1,040 I am overwhelmed at the generosity of friends and family.

“To be able to donate my hair to The Little Princess Trust has been the icing on the cake, knowing that this will help provide a wig for a child going through cancer treatment.”

Nadia Hall, Fundraising Manager said, “Many of our patients tell us how scared and alone they feel following a brain tumour diagnosis. That’s where we step in, wrapping our arms of support around the patient and their loved ones. Debra’s fundraising will make a big difference and will help fund immediate crisis support to 10 individuals recently diagnosed with a brain tumour, providing comfort, support and practical guidance.

“Thank you Debra, you are a fundraising superstar!”
