St Austell Charitable Trust recently awarded us a £3,000 grant for our support services in the South West. This generous donation will fund three in-person support groups in Truro, giving patients and loved ones a safe, welcoming space to talk with others who are facing similar challenges.
This summer, Tom Gainey met one of our Support Professionals, Laura Darlison to present the donation and learn more about our work and impact.
Nadia Hall, Fundraising Manager at Brain Tumour Support said, “A brain tumour diagnosis has a profound impact in so many ways. Patients often report feelings of fear and isolation, and it can be hard to talk to loved ones about their diagnosis. Our support groups gives people a place to meet, listen and talk with others, helping them build a wider community of support.
“The donation from St Austell Charitable Trust will help patients living in Cornwall access to this vital support, by helping to fund three in-person support groups in Truro. We’d like to thank everyone at the Trust for supporting our cause.”
