Alliance chooses Brain Tumour Support as Charity of the Year

Alliance, a leading consumer healthcare business, has chosen Brain Tumour Support as its 2026 Charity of the Year.

Just a few months into the partnership, the team had already exceeded its initial fundraising target, raising vital funds and awareness for our specialist support services.

The current fundraising total is £4,500, and money raised through the partnership will help Brain Tumour Support provide tailored emotional and practical support for individuals and families affected by a brain tumour diagnosis. This includes one-to-one support, guidance, specialist counselling, support groups and help for families navigating the wide-ranging impact of diagnosis.

A fundraising walk with real impact

The first fundraiser was a 35km sponsored walk from Bristol to Bradford-on-Avon.

Starting at 8.30 am, the team walked throughout the day and raised an incredible £3,000. This will help fund ongoing, tailored support for three families facing the impact of a brain tumour diagnosis.

“I’m tired, my feet are hurting from walking all day, but to know that we are helping local families makes it all worthwhile.”

The walk was the first in a calendar of fundraising activities and events taking place throughout 2026, bringing Alliance staff and the wider community together behind a cause that is close to many of the team’s hearts.

AJ Bell Great Bristol Run

In May, a group of  Alliance runners took on the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run in both the 10km and Half Marathon races.

Together the team raised over £2,000 which could fund two face-to-face support groups locally, in Bristol or Bath.

Supporting families when they need it most

A brain tumour diagnosis can affect every part of life, from treatment decisions and changes to work, to family life, finances, independence and emotional wellbeing.

Brain Tumour Support provides individualised support for anyone affected by any type or grade of brain tumour. Our team works alongside patients, families, friends and carers for as long as support is needed, helping people feel heard, understood and less alone.

Partnerships like this help keep our services free and accessible for the people who need them.

A cause close to the team

More fundraising planned for 2026

Current fundraising activities include a World Cup Sweepstake, Cake Sale and Traitors Challenge. These activities will not only fund our vital support services, but also help promote team spirit and boost morale within the team.
