Rugeley Leisure Centre dances for Brain Tumour Support

Last week, Rugeley Leisure Centre found a brilliant way to beat the winter blues – with a sparkly Danceathon for Brain Tumour Support!

Members, friends and family took part in an epic 3-hour Danceathon, complete with uplifting music, sparkly accessories and glowsticks. The event, part of our Sparkle Season, raised over £830 which will help provide immediate crisis support to eight families facing the devastating impact of a brain tumour diagnosis.

Chelsie Flanagan, Support Professional at Brain Tumour Support took part in the event with her family and said: “When I spoke to Natalie and the team at Rugeley Leisure Centre about our work, they said they wanted to help so organised a sparkly morning of non-stop dancing! The Danceathon was a great way to get moving, feel good and do good to help families in need of our support.

“Big thank you to Natalie for organising the event and to everyone who took part and donated so generously. It shows what a supportive community we have and I hope everyone enjoyed the morning as much as I did!”

If you’d like to get involved with fundraising and organise your own Sparkle event, we’d love to hear from you! Contact fundraising@braintumoursupport.co.uk or call 01454 414 355 to receive a fundraising pack and ideas.
