As for so many both within our brain tumour community and beyond, Brain Tumour Support has faced very challenging times over the past six months.

The coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on both charity income and the nature of our support services.
We have been working with a dramatically reduced team throughout lockdown, with over half of our team furloughed, and we have had to adapt our support services to ensure that safe and appropriate support can remain in place.
It is thanks to the continued commitment of the charity team and our wonderful supporters in responding to our Together We Are Stronger Appeal that we have indeed shown how ‘Together we can survive’. Our driving force remains a determination to support as many patients and families as possible. COVID-19 has changed many aspects of life, but our vision and resolve are stronger than ever.
However, for the charity to be in the best position to achieve this, and to face the many challenges still ahead, we have had to take some very difficult decisions. With a predicted 40% drop in income this year, it has been necessary to reorganise the charity team.
As a result, we are sadly going to lose four very valued colleagues, as well as cutting some working hours for others. We are also letting go of our current offices on the High Street in Thornbury, and are now assessing the most efficient and cost-effective way forward for our team to operate.
Our greatest determination is that the funds raised with so much energy and dedication from our supporters go to helping as many patients and families as we can so that truly no one feels alone facing a brain tumour diagnosis.
Out of great adversity can come great opportunity, and that is how we approach the next chapter for Brain Tumour Support. We hope you will join us. Together we can rebuild.
