We know from the popularity of our own creative sessions for brain tumour patients and families just how important and beneficial artistic expression can be. So we are excited to see our friends at the International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) asking for submissions for an online exhibition to celebrate the creativity of the brain tumour community.
The project is called ‘Brilliance: A Virtual Exhibition of Creative Works from the Global Brain Tumour Community’ and it will launch on the IBTA’s website to coincide with this year’s International Brain Tumour Awareness Week, 30 October – 6 November, and is then anticipated to remain available for viewing online indefinitely.
Work is invited from brain tumour patients, family members, friends, researchers and healthcare professionals, and the work can be a painting, sculpture, drawing, piece of jewellery, craftwork or ceramics – any sort of artistic expression. The exhibition aims to reflect the wealth of creativity and uniqueness of each individual.
Submissions to ‘Brilliance’ require a photograph of the creative work and should be made through the IBTA website. The closing date is midnight on Wednesday 20 October 2021.
