On Saturday 2 July a very special charity rugby match is being played at Stafford RUFC in honour of Staffordshire firefighter Rob Watts, who sadly lost his life to a brain tumour in April this year. In tribute to him, and to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity and Brain Tumour Support, the Combined Services Barbarians will take on a formidable side from Stafford RUFC, and compete for The Rob Watts Memorial Bell.
The Combined Services Barbarians are a squad of serving and former Armed Forces personnel who play to raise money for the military, emergency services and related charities. The team for 2 July is coming together from all over the UK and has an international mix of players from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Poland and Fiji, playing alongside members of the Fire Service.
Kick-off is 2 pm and entry costs £5 cash on the gate. Food and drink are available, and there will also be a raffle and auction on the day in aid of the charities.
