Brain Tumour Support ambassador, Joel Dommett on ITV's Who wants to be a millionaire with Jeremy Clarkson

Joel Dommett, comedian and star TV presenter, and passionate ambassador for Brain Tumour Support, has secured valuable and vital funds for the charity with a fantastic appearance on ITV’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Celebrity Special on Sunday 23 October.

In his bid to win as much money as possible for Brain Tumour Support, Joel displayed his usual quick wit and humour, especially on his Phone a Friend call to Jonathon Ross (who proceeded to hang up – a first for the show!) and revealing the controversial opinion that he enjoys pineapple on pizza. He faced some challenging questions from the show’s host Jeremy Clarkson but made us so proud in securing such an incredible win.

After his win, Joel explained how much it meant to him:

“Wow, I’m absolutely delighted to have won £125,000 for Brain Tumour Support. They do such amazing work to help so many patients and families affected by a brain tumour diagnosis, and over the past couple of years, Hannah and I have seen just how important that support is. I’m thrilled to be able to help the charity to continue its vital work.”

Joel and his wife, model Hannah Cooper, are loyal supporters of Brain Tumour Support and became charity ambassadors in March 2021. The cause is especially significant to them having had close family experience of the impact that a brain tumour diagnosis can have, not only on an individual but their loved ones too. They have also seen the importance of specialist support and the difference that it makes. Joel’s win will ensure that those vital support services can reach even more patients and families across the UK.

CEO of Brain Tumour Support, Tina Mitchell Skinner, expressed just how much this means to the charity: “We were stunned when we saw Joel’s win! As we approach our 20th year of providing support to patients and families this is just the most fantastic boost. After the challenges of the pandemic and our determined efforts to rebuild and shape support services for the future, these funds are an incredible bonus to help that work which we are all so passionate about.

“The impact of brain tumours desperately needs more awareness and more money allocated to support the growing number of people living and dying with a brain tumour every day. Joel’s win not only brings invaluable funds but also helps to spread vital awareness of the work Brain Tumour Support does and the importance of our cause. We are incredibly grateful for that.”
