International Brain Tumour Alliance Summit 2023

31 July 2023 31 July 2023 | IBTA

The IBTA is an alliance of support, advocacy and information groups for brain tumour patients and carers around the world.

Having had many years working alongside wonderful organisations, charities and individuals passionate about making a difference for people affected by a brain tumour diagnosis, Brain Tumour Support feels very proud to once again be part of The International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) Summit, currently taking place in Vienna.

This important biennial event brings together the worldwide brain tumour community and we are proud that our CEO, Tina Mitchell Skinner, and Support Service Manager, Lucy Wilkinson, were invited to attend, sharing their perspective and experience from the charity’s 20 years of providing support. With attendees from 30 countries, the summit is a unique platform to discuss and increase understanding around support, advocacy, campaigning and research, and to give a voice to patients, families and carers, no matter where they are in the world.

As well as the opportunity to learn from the experience of other patient groups and hear presentations from clinicians and scientists, the three-day programme also presents insightful workshops – including a session co-facilitated by Tina, focusing on neuro-rehabilitation for brain tumour patients.

We look forward to sharing some of the reflections and observations of Tina and Lucy. We would also like to express our gratitude to Kathy Oliver and the team at the IBTA for once again enabling the international brain tumour community to come together, support and learn so much from each other.
