Celebrating the success of our corporate charity partnership and its vital role in supporting brain tumour patients

The relationship between De Vere Tortworth Court and Brain Tumour Support dates back to the charity’s inception, marked by the inaugural fundraising ball held at the stunning South Gloucestershire venue in 2003.

The venue’s Westminster Suite was a fitting location for our 20th anniversary Emerald Ball last year, raising an astounding £28,000. These funds have been crucial in providing early intervention support for families at the point of diagnosis of a brain tumour.

After the success of the Emerald Ball, we were thrilled to be named De Vere Tortworth Court’s charity of the year. The hotel team has since engaged in various fundraising activities, including cycle rides and quizzes. The most notable event was organised by the Emerging Leaders, a group of 18-21-year-olds in a hospitality sector development program, who successfully planned and executed a fundraising ball, raising over £6,500.

In addition to this, the charity of the year partnership has raised £6,709, enough to provide specialist counselling support to 22 families. This support helps them navigate the many challenges posed by a brain tumour diagnosis.

Raphael Herzog, Tortworth’s General Manager, expressed his delight in partnering with Brain Tumour Support, stating,

“We are delighted to work alongside such a vital charity. To be able to see firsthand the impact the funds we have raised will have is fantastic. The charity makes a huge difference to the lives of people affected by a brain tumour and we are delighted to be a part of it.”
