Walk for Support at work

A simple, feel-good way to bring people together

Walk for Support is an easy, positive way for workplaces to support Brain Tumour Support while encouraging people to move a little, connect and do something meaningful together.

There’s no set route, no competition and no pressure. Just people walking in ways that work for them — and raising money for a cause that really matters.

“The support we received helped us feel less alone at a time when everything felt overwhelming. Knowing people were walking and fundraising for families like ours meant more than we can ever say.” A family supported by Brain Tumour Support

How it works

You decide what works best for your team. Walk for Support is designed to be flexible so that it can fit around different roles, schedules and working patterns.

That might look like:

  • A group walk at lunchtime or after work
  • Colleagues walking in their own time across a week or a month
  • A shared step or distance goal that everyone contributes to
  • Linking walking to an existing wellbeing or charity activity

Some teams walk together on one day. Others spread it out. Both are absolutely fine.

Why workplaces get involved

Workplaces often tell us they love Walk for Support because it:

  • Feels inclusive and accessible for everyone
  • Fits around busy working lives
  • Supports well-being without being intense or competitive
  • Brings people together around a shared purpose

It’s also a meaningful way to show your organisation cares about supporting individuals and families affected by brain tumours.

Some workplaces choose to use Walk for Support as part of a volunteering or community day, where staff are given time to take part, fundraise or walk together in a way that suits their roles and teams.

Fundraising made easy

Everyone who signs up receives:

  • A digital fundraising pack
  • Simple, practical tips to help raise money
  • Social graphics to share what you’re doing
  • Friendly, ongoing support from the Brain Tumour Support team

We suggest aiming to raise £50 per person, but every pound really does make a difference — and it all helps ensure no one faces a brain tumour diagnosis alone.
