Walk for Support – terms and conditions

We want Walk for Support to feel welcoming, flexible and safe for everyone taking part. The points below are here to help make sure participants understand how the event works and what responsibilities sit with each individual or group. If anything is unclear, our team is always happy to help.

Participation and responsibility

  • Walk for Support is an unsupervised, self-led event. Participants take part at their own risk.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring they are fit, well and able to complete their chosen walking challenge.

Routes and locations

  • Participants choose their own routes, locations and walking times.
  • Routes must be safe, suitable and legally accessible.
  • Walk for Support is not a guided or marshalled event, and Brain Tumour Support is not responsible for route planning or supervision.

Compliance

  • Participants must follow all relevant laws, local regulations and public safety guidance while taking part.

Age and safeguarding

  • Registration must be completed by an adult aged 18 or over.
  • Children are welcome to take part but must do so under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
  • Adults remain responsible for the safety and wellbeing of any children in their care during the walk.

Fundraising commitment

  • Walk for Support is a sponsored fundraising event.
  • By registering, participants acknowledge the importance of fundraising and agree to make reasonable efforts to raise funds in support of Brain Tumour Support.

Health and safety

  • Participants are responsible for their own health and safety throughout the event.
  • Participants should stop or adapt their activity if they feel unwell, unsafe or uncomfortable at any point.

Use of images and stories

  • Participants may be invited to share photos, stories or updates from their walk.
  • Any use of participant content by Brain Tumour Support will always be subject to consent.

Event changes

  • Brain Tumour Support reserves the right to amend event details if required.
