Today is an especially poignant one for Brain Tumour Support and our CEO and Founder, Tina Mitchell Skinner. Looking back to 26 January 2003, this is her very personal message.
I truly understood what it meant to have a ‘broken heart’ when 20 years ago this precious man, my husband, died from a Glioblastoma Multiforme grade IV.
I was determined that his death was not going to be in vain and he is the inspiration behind the work of the charity and all that it does to support families affected by any type of brain tumour.
Beginning as Hammer Out Brain Tumours, named after Paul’s passion for his football team West Ham ‘The Hammers’, we are now called Brain Tumour Support, and we are here for you. Whatever your situation, and wherever you are in your brain tumour journey, you are not alone.
Thank you, Paul, not only for being a wonderful Son, Brother, Husband, Brother-in-law, Father, and Friend, but thank you for loving us all in the way that you did, and for leaving us with such a legacy that has and will continue to support hundreds of others living with a brain tumour.
Love you forever my darling 💕
