Owen is eleven years old and wanted to do something positive after being deeply affected by the sudden death in January from a brain tumour of his cousin Erin. She was just fifteen.

Having seen how much Erin’s parents and two younger brothers have been affected and how specialist support is helping them, Owen decided to take on the challenge of walking 10,000 steps a day throughout February to raise funds for Brain Tumour Support. His incredible determination has meant that he has raised more than four times his original target, and donations are still coming in.
In Brain Tumour Awareness Month, Erin’s tragic death reminds us of just how indiscriminate brain tumours are. There are far too many people affected each year who are left feeling isolated and without support. Our vision is to ensure that support is there for them, today and in the future, and Owen’s efforts are an inspiring contribution to this as well as a lasting tribute to his much-missed cousin Erin.
