Brain Tumour Support, is delighted to announce that it has received a grant from Global’s Make Some Noise – the official charity of Global, the Media & Entertainment group – to help fund vital support services for individuals and families affected by a brain tumour diagnosis.

The funding from Global’s Make Some Noise comes thanks to generous donations from the UK public and partners, and the grant will provide funding for the charity’s Family First programme which is a lifeline, guiding families through the barrage of challenges which can come with a brain tumour diagnosis.

Emma McKeown, Brain Tumour Support CEO, said, ‘Every family has their own set of circumstances and the support they need is unique to them.

Brain Tumour Support will be able to provide a bespoke package of support to more than 145 families as a result of this award and thanks to the generosity of listeners from Global radio stations.’

Brain Tumour Support is one of the 46 small charities who received a share of over £2.9 million in funding from Global’s Make Some Noise, for life-changing projects in local communities across the UK. The funding will provide a vital lifeline in communities – supporting Global’s Make Some Noise continued vision that nobody in the UK should face life’s toughest challenges alone, tackling issues such as mental health, poverty and homelessness.

Every year, grants are awarded to small charities across the country to help fund the vital services they offer. Since its launch in 2014, Global’s Make Some Noise has supported 527 incredible local community projects and made a life changing difference to over 227,000 people across the UK.

It also raises awareness of the wide range of issues its funding is tackling with over 29.2 million weekly listeners across Global’s radio brands including Capital, Heart, Classic FM, Smooth, LBC, Radio X, Capital XTRA and Gold Radio.

Suzanne Ryder-Richardson, Director of Global Goodness at Global, said: ‘This year, we’ve seen a record number of applications for our project grants, highlighting the increasing need for support for these crucial initiatives that serve as a lifeline to so many. We’re incredibly grateful that, thanks to public donations and the generous support of our partners, we can provide this funding to the small, local charities delivering these vital services at the heart of communities across the UK. We remain committed to raising funds and awareness so that we can support even more life-changing projects across the UK in the future.’
