Getting support

Online support groups

Our monthly schedule of online support sessions offers the opportunity for patients, family members, friends and carers to connect, gain support and information, and share experiences via Zoom.

Zoom was new to me but I decided to give it a go.  It’s a simple link to follow and once you’ve opened up the audio and gallery, you can see everyone and chat in a relaxed way. I recommend it to anyone who needs to be encouraged.  Phil

You can join these regular, live online meet-ups via your computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone.

Please email us or call 01454 422 701 to tell us which session you’re interested in and to secure your place.

Don’t worry if online meetings are new to you!

Our online sessions are facilitated by a trained Support Professional so there is always someone on hand to help.

The virtual meetings help me to feel less isolated and lonely.  It’s lovely seeing everyone from the support group and chatting to people who understand.

And remember you don’t have to switch your camera on if you’d prefer not to. You will be given the option to use your camera before joining the meeting.

Connecting with others 24/7

We facilitate private groups on Facebook, which provide a space where people can talk directly to each other and share experiences and information, enabling peer to peer support 24/7.

We have our main Brain Tumour Support Forum which is open to anyone affected by a brain tumour diagnosis whether as a patient or a loved one, and we also provide a separate group exclusively for family and friends.

Tina’s story

I popped into Mum and Dad’s for a cuppa on my way home from work and noticed that Mum didn’t seem herself. She seemed unsteady on her feet, a little vague, lost for words and referring to me as “egg”….
