Ideas to get you started

There is no right or wrong way to take part. Accessibility and flexibility are at the heart of Walk for Support.

You might choose:

  • A short daily walk over a week or a month
  • A meaningful distance in memory or in support
  • A longer walk broken down into stages
  • A group walk with colleagues or classmates
  • Walking with your dog or a local walking group

Ways to take part

Walk for Support is designed to be flexible and welcoming. You can take part on your own, with others, or as part of a workplace or education setting — whatever feels right for you.

Walk for Support (individuals, families and friends)

You don’t need a team, a set route or a fixed distance. Walk in memory of someone you love, in support of someone affected by a brain tumour, or simply to show you care.

Choose your own pace, distance and timing — whether that’s one meaningful walk or lots of smaller ones that fit around everyday life.

What your walk helps make possible

Around every 30 minutes in the UK, someone is told they have a brain tumour. What follows can be a complex mix of physical, emotional and practical challenges — often alongside fear, confusion and isolation.

At Brain Tumour Support, we believe no one should face this diagnosis alone. By taking part in Walk for Support, you help ensure that people affected by brain tumours can access the emotional support, guidance and community they need.

Your fundraising could help provide

  • £50 to support a patient or family member through one of our support groups, helping reduce feelings of isolation
  • £100 to fund an individual counselling session, offering a safe space to talk through fears and emotions
  • £440 to ensure no one grieving a brain tumour loss has to cope alone, through a dedicated online bereavement group

Every step you take helps make this support possible.
