Edward Crockford Champion Fund

Katie Gingell set up a Champion Fund in memory of her dad after losing him, very suddenly, to a brain tumour in July 2022.

As well as being a lasting tribute, doing something positive for others through fundraising has been a huge help for Katie in coping with grief.

Fund target: £5,000

Current total: £3,700

Katie explains the background to her Champion Fund

Welcome to our Champion Fund in memory of my amazing Dad, Edward Crockford.

Dad was THE most wonderful person you will ever meet. He was kind, gentle and caring and the best dad, grandad and husband in the world.

Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour just three weeks before he died.

In that time we cried, laughed, wondered why us, why him, chatted all night, spent lots of time with special family and friends reminiscing and talking about his wonderful life.

I don’t think we will actually ever believe that he is no longer here. We love you forever and always Dad.

I wanted to start raising money for Brain Tumour Support as they were highlighted to us by a family friend as a charity who do great work with families going through a brain tumour diagnosis. Raising money to help the charity continue to do their excellent work makes you feel as if you are doing some good and giving something back. We continue to hope that the future will bring more knowledge about brain tumours and treatments to help.

This is for you Dad,
from Katie, Abigail, Samantha, Jennifer & your grandchildren xxx
