Understanding fundraising targets

When organising your own fundraiser for Brain Tumour Support, you have the flexibility to set your own fundraising target. Here’s how it works:

  1. Brain Tumour Support events: If you’re participating in one of our official events, such as Move29 there may be a suggested minimum fundraising target.
  2. Third-party events: When joining events organised by third parties, for example, the Ultra Challenge Series or the Great North Run, there is typically a fundraising target associated with a charity place. The specifics vary based on the event:
    • You can choose to fundraise the entire cost of your place.
    • Alternatively, you may cover a higher proportion of the place cost and have a lower fundraising target.
    • Some participants prefer to cover the place cost themselves and set their own fundraising goals.

Remember, every contribution counts, and your efforts directly impact those affected by brain tumours.

Thank you for being part of our mission!

Unlocking the power of match funding for Brain Tumour Support

What is match funding?

Match Funding, also known as match giving, is a valuable service offered by various organisations as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Its purpose is to empower employees in their fundraising endeavours by ‘matching’ the funds they raise. Whether you work for a large company or a small business, there’s a chance your employer participates in a match funding scheme. Don’t hesitate to enquire with your employer about existing programs or the possibility of setting one up.

How does it work?

Companies that offer match funding commit to contributing a sum of money proportional to what their employees raise for charity. Here are the key points:

  1. Equal impact: Many organisations follow a pound-for-pound approach. For every pound you raise, your employer matches it with an equal amount. Imagine the impact—your donation instantly doubled!
  2. Individual variation: Each organisation has its unique expectations and policies regarding match funding. Some may have specific guidelines, while others are more flexible. It’s essential to understand your employer’s approach.
  3. Ask the question: Don’t hesitate to ask your employer about match funding. You never know—the answer could lead to doubling the impact of your valuable donation.

By participating in match funding, you not only amplify your own contribution but also strengthen Brain Tumour Support’s mission.

See our match-giving page for more information.
