Sparkle — your anytime fundraiser

Spread some sparkle for Brain Tumour Support — any day that suits you

You can sparkle right through to the end of the year (and beyond): Bonfire Night, Fireworks Night, Halloween, Christmas, New Year’s… or simply a day that means something to you. Make it your own — a glittering wedding anniversary, a sparkling work Christmas party, or a sparkly twist on a regular gym session with your workout buddies. However you do it, your Sparkle helps fund calm, specialist support for families facing the impact of a brain tumour.

When to sparkle

Sparkle fits beautifully around Bonfire Night, Fireworks Night, Halloween, Christmas and New Year — and anything else that takes your fancy. Choose a date that works for you and make it shine.

Ideas to get you started

  • Sparkly get-togethers: afternoon tea or coffee morning, twinkly lights walk, glitter-themed quiz night, disco or karaoke.
  • Make it “you”: a gym class in sequins, Parkrun with glitter, sparkly dress day at work, a festive bake sale.
  • For little ones: storytime with magic and sparkle dress-up; craft sessions making glittery ornaments, cards or decorations.
  • At home, school or work: keep it cosy or go all-out — every idea helps.

How it works

Pick your date and idea, set a simple target, invite friends, colleagues or family, and collect donations on the day (or via your fundraising page). Share your photos and nominate others to join in using #SparkleDay and #SpreadTheSparkle.

Tell us about your event

Katie’s sparkling tribute

Katie Gingell hosted a Sparkly Family Disco in memory of her wonderful dad, Edward Crockford, who died in 2022, just three weeks after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

“Dad was utterly brilliant and his amazing, selfless self until the end, only ever thinking of us all. By holding fundraisers and raising money for Brain Tumour Support it feels like we are doing something to help others who may go through the same devastating situation.”

Through her Sparkle fundraisers, Katie and her family have raised over £2,000 and spread a lot of fun and love in tribute to her dad.

Other ways to get involved

  • At work: encourage your workplace to become a corporate supporter and Sparkle Up Your Day from just £100.
  • At school, college or university: organise a fundraising event or awareness campaign with your classmates.
  • In your community: bring neighbours or your group together to host a sparkly event or fundraiser.

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference in supporting those affected by brain tumours. Get ready to sparkle and shine!
