Open your garden for Brain Tumour Support

We’re inviting you to open up your garden to visitors and raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Support.

By participating, you will not only showcase the beauty of your garden but also contribute to a cause that supports countless individuals and families affected by brain tumours.

How to open your garden to visitors

Opening your garden to visitors is a wonderful way to share your passion for gardening while supporting a great cause. Here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Register your garden: Sign up using the form below to let us know you’d like to participate. Please provide details about your garden and the date(s) you plan to open it.
  2. Prepare your garden: Ensure your garden is safe and welcoming for visitors. Think about accessibility and provide clear paths for guests.
  3. Promote your event: Use social media, local community boards, and our promotional fundraising materials to spread the word about your open garden event.
  4. Welcome visitors: On the day of your event, greet visitors, give them a tour of your garden, and share your story or reason for supporting Brain Tumour Support.

What’s involved

  • Planning: Choose a suitable date and time for your event. Consider collaborating with neighbours or local gardeners to create a garden tour.
  • Fundraising: Set up a donation station at the entrance of your garden. You can use a donation box, or direct visitors to an online fundraising page.
  • Engagement: Plan activities such as garden tours, plant sales, tea and cake stalls, or gardening workshops to make your event more engaging and enjoyable.

Ideas for your open garden event

  • Themed tours: Create themed tours such as Wildlife Garden, Flower Power, or Vegetable Patch.
  • Workshops and demonstrations: Host gardening workshops or demonstrations on planting, pruning, or composting.
  • Refreshments: Offer tea, coffee, cakes, and snacks for a small donation.
  • Activities for kids: Set up a kids’ corner with garden-related activities like seed planting or a nature scavenger hunt.

Collecting donations

  • Donation box: Place a donation box at the entrance and exit.
  • Online donations: Set up a JustGiving page and encourage visitors to donate online.
