Easy hot drink recipes for a Cake and Cuppa party

On our Warming Hot Drinks page, we’ve gathered the best recipes to help you take the chill off during the Cake and a Cuppa event. Café Latte

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of brewed strong coffee
  • 1/2 cup of milk (you can use dairy or plant-based milk)
  • Sugar or sweetener to taste

Instructions

  • Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until steaming (but not boiling).
  • Froth the milk using a whisk or a milk frother if available.
  • Pour the brewed coffee into a mug, then top with the frothed milk.
  • Sweeten to taste and enjoy!

Classic Hot Chocolate

Classic hot chocolate drinks with a seasonal twist, marshallows and cinnamon sticksIngredients

  • 2 cups of milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: Whipped cream or marshmallows for topping

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
  • Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until hot (but not boiling).
  • Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired.

Herbal Tea (Peppermint)

Ingredients

  • 1 peppermint tea bag (or fresh peppermint leaves)
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • Honey or sweetener to taste (optional)

Instructions

  • Place the peppermint tea bag or leaves in a mug.
  • Pour boiling water over the tea and steep for 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bag or strain out the leaves.
  • Sweeten with honey or your preferred sweetener if desired.

Spiced Apple Cider

  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 whole cloves
  • 1-2 slices of fresh ginger (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the apple juice or cider with the cinnamon stick, cloves, and ginger slices.
  • Heat over medium heat until steaming, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes to infuse the flavours.
  • Strain and serve hot.
