Hello, I’m Kirsten!
Support Professional

Support Professional, Kirsten
My name is Kirsten and I am a Support Professional covering Oxfordshire, the Home Counties, the East Midlands, and London and the South East.
I have been working for Brain Tumour Support since March 2022. I was drawn to this role because I love building relationships and connecting with people. I also have family experience of cancer and that is one of the reasons I felt so passionate about working with this wonderful charity.
I really value the 1:1 calls I have with my clients and being able to offer them support and an opportunity to talk freely. It is such a privilege to facilitate the Support Groups that we offer. So many people find them informative, supportive and most importantly, they help people to feel less isolated. The support we can offer to patients and family/friends alike is second to none and provides much solace to people going through a very difficult time.
Communication skills have been an important part of my career over the years. I have had a variety of administration-based roles in both the private and public sector and this is my first Charity sector role. I spent many years working in education, in particular with Special Needs children and their families, offering support and signposting where appropriate.
I live in Wiltshire with my husband, teenage children and our dog, Bertie. I enjoy walking, swimming, spin classes, reading and family holidays. I have recently taken up kayaking and paddle boarding, it is safe to say, I need to work on both my balance and technique!!!!
