Our partnerships

Our vision is for no one to feel alone facing a brain tumour diagnosis, our values are centred on collaboration and inclusion, and we always believe Together WE are Stronger.

Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan’s aim is to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support. The partnership with Brain Tumour Support was designed to ensure more brain tumour patients and families receive a direct, structured and hands-on support service, and from 2014 up until March 2020, Macmillan part-funded five new locally based Support Worker posts. The success of this collaboration resulted in the partnership further developing into Wales in 2019.

Whilst the funding element in England has now concluded the partnership very much continues with mutual determination that no-one should feel alone facing the diagnosis of a brain tumour.

Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission

The Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission (TJBCM) was inspired by the tireless campaigning of Baroness Tessa Jowell following her own GBM brain tumour diagnosis. Throughout a year of battling the tumour, she also fought to effect change and improve outcomes for future generations, and this became a lasting legacy when the Mission was established in February 2018. Its aim is to be a national convening body, uniting professional, patient, charity and government groups to share information and work together to eradicate brain tumours.

Brain Tumour Support’s CEO and Founder, Tina Mitchell Skinner, sits on the TJBCM Joint Strategy Board. She says “Our charity takes its focus from the needs of the patients and families we support, we are delighted to play our part in the work of the Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission. Its aim to bring the brain tumour community together in improving outcomes is increasingly important and it is a great reflection of the spirit, determination and passion that comes to mind when we remember Tessa Jowell.”

International Brain Tumour Alliance

The International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA) is a unique global network for brain tumour patients and carer groups around the world. They work alongside and represent, members of our community – including researchers, scientists, clinicians, nurses and allied healthcare professionals – to engage in advocacy, to raise awareness and to share information.
