Sam Derricourt
Trustee
I joined Brain Tumour Support as a trustee in April 2024 and have really enjoyed the experience so far. I’ve learnt a lot in a short space of time, have met some brilliant people within the charity and I’m really enjoying giving my time and knowledge to help their vital work.
I unfortunately lost my Dad in 2014 to a brain tumour after he was diagnosed with a glioblastoma and died 12 months later. He received brilliant care from the NHS and charities and eventually a hospice. But there felt a lack of support for us as his family, aside from leaning on each other and those around us, so when I was told about the work Brain Tumour Support does the importance of it really resonated with me.
I live in South Bristol with my wife and two young children who keep me busy a lot of the time but when I do get a bit of time to myself I enjoy being outdoors playing sport, walking, cycling, and swimming
Currently I work as a Finance Business Partner for Lloyds Banking Group and have been with the organisation since 2013. I am a CIMA qualified accountant and have held a variety of roles across the bank with a focus on Analytics, Forecasting and Partnering for various areas of the business.
