UK brain tumour charities make joint statement regarding coronavirus

We want you to know that our thoughts are with you and your families during these uncertain times and that as charities working for the benefit of those affected by brain tumours we will be both following and monitoring the latest advice in order to support you during this period.

Please keep following our social media posts and email updates for latest news on guidance and support available. We are conscious of the added questions and worries that a brain tumour diagnosis can bring and will try to address these.

We recommend everyone follows the NHS advice around reducing the risk of picking up infections including thoroughly and frequently washing your hands, practicing good hygiene and avoiding contact with people who are unwell.

We understand that the NHS will continue to provide cancer treatments as normal. In the event of any disruption, clinicians will always make decisions to prioritise treatment for those most in need and in consultation with patients.

We also understand that the NHS has conducted extensive work on supply chains to ensure a secure supply of necessary drugs and other requirements such as the radionuclides used in some imaging tests.

Please keep doing what you can to support brain tumour charities during this difficult time so that we can continue to help you, campaign on your behalf and keep the research and support going.

Thinking of you.
