Everyone at Brain Tumour Support, including our Specialist Counsellor Kate, would like to send their deepest condolences to the family of Julie Harvey, who died recently following a long battle with a brain tumour.
Julie was an inspirational lady who was determined not to let her diagnosis stop her getting the most out of life. Since her diagnosis in 2016, she continued to walk, swim, run and cycle and even completed an indoor skydive. Julie was also passionate about raising awareness of brain tumours and talked about how she lived her life with a brain tumour in order to raise this awareness.
A fervent fundraiser for Brain Tumour Support, Julie set up a Champion Fund which currently stands at a staggering £12,310.
“Julie had an infectious enthusiasm for everything she did, and I am proud to have known her,” said Tina Mitchell Skinner, Founder and CEO of Brain Tumour Support. “She was incredibly open and honest about how this devastating disease affected her – in telling her story, she helped and inspired others. Our warmest wishes to her husband John and their daughters Sally and Sophie.”
