At such a crucial time for Brain Tumour Support, we are extremely grateful to have received an award from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, Thanks also to the Government for making this possible. This funding will be helping to sustain our vital support services over coming months and bring the charity team back together in November.
CEO and Founder, Tina Mitchell Skinner explained the significance of this news, "Receiving this funding is so important for the charity, and is also valued recognition of the work we do. Following this period when many of our staff have been furloughed, and very sadly we've also had to cut back with a number of redundancies, it will be wonderful for our team to be back together, and this funding is helping to secure our service delivery to the end of February 2021.
"It has been an incredibly tough few months but what always drives us forward is our determination to be here to support the patients and families who need us. Brain tumours don't stop for COVID-19, if anything the pandemic adds a layer of anxiety and complication, and the need for our services is greater than ever. This award gives us a big boost as the charity team, and our wonderful supporters and fundraisers responding to our Together We Are Stronger Appeal, continue to work so hard to rebuild and secure support services for the future."
