Aviva Centre Bristol chooses Brain Tumour Support as its charity for 2020

Brain Tumour Support has been chosen as Charity of the Year by the staff of insurance company Aviva’s Bristol office in Stoke Gifford.

Aviva staff voted to support the charity’s work for brain tumour patients and families across the UK, after one of their colleagues had been given a brain tumour diagnosis.

Brain Tumour Support has already benefited from AVIVA's support when, earlier this year, the company provided a venue for the whole charity team to get together. This included all of the charity's Brain Tumour Support Workers from across the UK.

“We are absolutely delighted that Aviva has chosen to fundraise for us,” said Emma McKeown, deputy CEO of Brain Tumour Support. “The company already has a variety of fundraising activities planned and is aiming to raise a fantastic £5,000. This will make a real difference to so many people we support. In 2019 we received 51% more referrals than in 2018, so demand for our support services is increasing dramatically. We already support more than 2,500 patients and families, but we have so much more to do – there are an estimated 100,000 people in the UK living with a brain tumour. With the support of companies like Aviva, we will be able to achieve our vision that no-one is alone when faced with a brain tumour diagnosis.”
