Our finance and welfare benefits service

Specialist individual support

Brain Tumour Support offers specific and targeted help for patients and their families to access finance and welfare benefits to which they are entitled.  Our understanding of the complex needs arising from a brain tumour diagnosis, surgery and treatment enables us to address the, sometimes very specific, welfare rights issues for brain tumour patients, families and carers in England, Wales and Scotland.

We provide free individualised support predominantly via telephone or Zoom, and can help patients with any type of brain tumour, not only malignant tumours.

It has certainly been my experience over the last three years that there are specific issues which make the benefit procedure especially difficult for brain tumour patients.  There is also a quite alarming lack of understanding on behalf of the Department of Work and Pensions, and especially the medical assessment companies, on the physical and psychological consequences of brain tumour diagnosis and surgery.
